How DCA helped a Queensland Not for Profit create a single source of truth and save more animals.

AWLQ engaged DCA to help migrate to a new Salesforce CRM, cleansing, validating, and deduplicating their data to deliver real fundraising results.

“We were merging 4 different databases into one single source of truth, which was a huge task, but DCA made the whole process smooth.”

Billie-Rose Harvey – Program Administration Coordinator, AWLQ

Animal Welfare League Queensland (AWLQ) came to DCA with a problem: They wanted to implement a new Salesforce instance, but were dealing with multiple systems, all used by different stakeholders, with no history of data quality exercises. Their data had multiple duplicates, meaning it could not reliably be used for fundraising campaigns or analytics – both vital functions for any Not for Profit.

The DCA team needed to cleanse, validate, and deduplicate over 250,000 records and roll all human records into Salesforce, creating a single source of truth for fundraising activities like donor journey tracking.

After spending time onsite with the AWLQ team, DCA formulated a comprehensive database cleanse and migration project plan that would ensure minimal downtime. It was a priority for DCA that the Not for Profit could continue providing the community with their vital services throughout the entire process.

This plan was delivered in multiple phases:

  1. Data Discovery & Audit
  2. Transformation – Cleanse, Dedupe, Validate
  3. Migration Scoping
  4. Consolidation and Quality Assurance
  5. CRM Migration
  6. Post-Migration Support

DCA delivered the CRM migration project on time and in budget, helping AWLQ deliver on their promise that no healthy, social, treatable animal is euthanized.

“We had a very tight turnaround and DCA agreed to all timelines. The project was completed very quickly, which meant we could launch our tax appeal campaign. It was a huge campaign using the new data from DCA, and one of our most successful tax appeal campaigns ever.”
